So I still can't find any pictures. But I found one!!! It's a funny one too. Well funny in an ironic way. Take a looksie!
That night I had an uneasy lump sitting in my throat. I could hardly sleep, but when I did all I dreamt about was that woman waltzing down the isle at what should of been my wedding. Wearing what should of been my dress. Then saying "I do" to the man that I should be with. Then she would slowly transform into another monster of my past. With those perfect blonde curls and model looks with that ditzy personality. Stupid Henra. Stupid Stella. Stupid Grim Reaper. All of which made my life a living hell.
"Zoe? Zoe are you awake?" I heard Mitch whisper.
"Mmm." I grunted. "I am now."
I opened my eyes. There stood Mitch with a huge grin plastered to his face.
"So, are you ready to go home? Celeste is probably freaking out."
I frowned.
"Yeah sure." I sighed.
"What's wrong?" He asked.
"Well, I dunno. Will I see you again?"
"Yeah. Why did you think any different?" He asked.
"No. I guess not." I smiled.
*Author's Note*
I'm sorry about how cliche that was. I try to keep my legacy original but at some points those cliche parts just creep in. ;)
The ride home took about 20 minuets. I opened the door and gestured for Mitch to come in. And right when I got in I was greeted by happy screeches from the boys and Celeste who went up to me and slapped me across the face. It looked like Mitch was going to protest against Celeste for slapping me but he kept quiet probably not wanting to get into our personal lives. And I think Celeste being the other creator and all had something to do with it too.
"Don't you every scare me like that again! Where have you been?" Celeste called out angrily, loud enough to make my ears ring.
I told her the whole story. Mitch stepped in at some parts.
"So we aren't in Sonic world? We're in what's it called? Creation world? Why should we believe what Egg man says?" Celeste asked unconvinced.
"Well I don't know. It just sounded legit. Not to mention he thought I would be dead today and that's where the whole villian telling his whole evil plan to the captive comes in. So we're obviously in Creation World." I concluded.
"Uh. You guys do know that I'm still here right? Yeah I've lived here for a long time now. So you guys could of just asked me where you are." Mitch smirked.
"Right." I said sheepishly. "... Was I right at least?"
"Yeah you were." He chuckled.
After a coffee and cookies Mitch remembered he was to meet Stella last minuet wedding stuff.
"O-oh. So uh when's the wedding?" I asked.
Celeste was watching us from the kitchen. I could just tell she was thinking of 1200 different ways to tease me about this later. Out of the corner of my eye Celeste chuckled. Oh god.
"Zoë? Are you even listening?" Mitch asked snapping me back to reality.
"Wh-what? Oh. Sorry what did you say before that?"
"The wedding's in 4 days. Hey um, tomorrow do you want to come to dinner?"
Was he asking me out? I silently squealed. Zoë: 1 Stella: 0
"Stellar is a great cook! Tomorrow she'll be making a roast with an orange salad. Ooh! And pie!" He smiled.
Crap. Zoë: 1 Stella: 10000000000
"I'd love to." I said trying to mask my disappointment.
"Great. We'll pick you up at 5." He said getting into his car.
I watched him drive off.
"I love you too!" I called out when he was far enough away.
I walked into the house. Celeste walked right up to me with a grin plastered to her face.
"Hey, Mooni I-" She began.
"Just be quiet." I snapped.
"Okay bish." She said, throwing up her hands.
I spent the rest of the day teaching the kids how to walk. I got Alex to take his first steps after months of stumbling. Benry prefers crawling. Whenever he stands up he falls over. (a trait he gets from his mum.) But he'll have to learn at some point. They'll grow up in a couple of months. Ginger and Aneese already know how to walk but only Aneese is potty trained so we all have some work to do.
I cooked dinner that night, potatoes and ham. Celeste was excited about the potatoes since she hasn't had some since we got here. (That's a long time for Celly to be away from potatoes.) And Ginger loved ham. I don't know why. She just has a thing for ham.
That night I dreamed of absolutely nothing. It was like a blank canvas in my head. But I was too lazy to fill it. I woke up at 5:30 and couldn't fall back asleep. So I did the inevitable. I cleaned the kitchen. Once done I made myself a coffee and started to watch reruns of Doctor Who. Celeste came down just in time to watch the 10th Doctor regenerate. Which made her cry. I must confess I got a little teary my self. Right when we both burst in to tears Eli walked in. Eli looked at us funny as if he was going to say something. Let out a chuckle and then walked away. Something about that gesture got Celeste really mad. I could see her just flush with rage. She got up and stormed out of the house. I let out a sigh.
Celeste and Eli have been fighting more often now. They're kind of nit picking everything each other does. If they Celeste didn't like the tone in which Eli talked to Aneese then she would yell at him. If Eli didn't like the way Celeste rolled her eyes when he talked well, he would just have to get used to it.
I went upstairs and got dressed. I brought out the kids. But I could only carry two down the stairs at a time, so I had to leave two upstairs. I picked the girls up. I could barely hold both at the same time! Well they are almost 4. I put them in front of the television. Then ran up stairs to get the boys. Alex was sitting there chewing on the rug while Benry splashed in the toilet water. I groaned.
I brought the boys down and sat them beside Ging and Aneese. Aneese was watching The Doctor in amazement.
"Zoë? What is dat?" She asked never letting her eyes leave the screen.
"That's the Doctor's sonic screw driver Annie." I laughed.
"For my birf day can I haf a sonic scew diver?" She looked up at me expectantly.
"Uh, we'll see."
I picked up the piece of paper lying on the desk. It was Mitch's number. I started dialing.
"Hello?" I heard Stella answer.
"Uh hi, it's um Zoë."
"Oh. Hi. Did you want to talk to Mitchell?"
"Yes please." I said politely.
I waited. And heard nothing.
"Uh hello?" I asked.
The phone started beeping. She hung up on me, that jerk! I redialed.
"Hello?" Mitch asked.
"Hi Mitch. I called you like, a second ago but Stella hung up."
"Yeah I know I caught her in time. She's just the jealous type. She's not always like this. So what's up? Ready for dinner today?" I could hear him grinning that grin of his.
"Hell yeah. Er, I probably shouldn't sound so excited."
"Hey, it's pie we're talking about, excitement is due." He laughed.
"So what did I call you- oh right. I was wondering if there's any good parks anywhere?"
"Why are you going to a park? Oh were those your kids that I saw? The two boys or-"
"Yeah the two boys are mine." I chuckled.
"Ah. So... are you uh, married?"
"Oh. No, not anymore." I said as painful memories started to swell in my mind.
"Uh do you mind me asking what happened or is too personal?" He asked nervously.
"Naw. Well My first husband, erm I mean fiancé, the father of the twins died on our wedding day from some disease. And then my latest husband cheated on me."
It took him a while to chew that. "...Oh. That must of uh, sucked. So you aren't having the best year ever are you?"
"Well no. But it has it's perks. Like meeting you." I said. After realizing that I was flirting with an engaged man I quickly added, "And coming here of coarse."
"Of coarse." He said clearing his throat, "It's very uh beautiful here. Good dental plan too."
We ended our conversation with him naming all of their parks.
"Okay kids! Who wants to go to the park?"
"Meeeeee!" They all said together.
I took them to the nearest park for an hour. Then found an ice cream shop close to the park. By that time it was already 4:00.
When we got home I put them all down for a quick nap, then went downstairs to get dressed. I wore a purple and black dress. It wasn't fancy cuz I'm the last person you'll see in any thing fancy. (I end up ruining it, mostly because it gets dirty when I fall over.) I then put some makeup on, My usual black and pink eye shadow. I still had time to waste so I watched a rerun of Jackass until they came. At around ten-to I kept my eyes glued to the window. When I saw Mitch's car come into view I grabbed my purse and ran outside.
"Hi Zoë." Mitch said seeing me.
"Hey."
We drove to his place chatting about our day.
When we got there I could smell the chicken. He lead me through to the living room. Sat me down on the couch and went into the kitchen. He came back with two plates of food. He took a seat next to me.
"So I wanted to know if-" Mitch started. I took a mouthful of the chicken. She really was an okay cook.
"If what Mitchell dear?" Stella asked taking a seat in between us.
"Well what if Zoë came to our wedding?" Mitch looked up expectingly.
"No. That's not happening. Too many people." Stella said turning red. She gave Mitch a glare.
"But we booked for 100 seats and since Chris and your cousins can't come I thought..."
"But she isn't coming!" Stella almost yelled.
"But Steller!"
"Why do you hate me?!?!" She screamed as she ran into her room.
Wow. This wasn't what I was expecting. Sure. I knew Stella would be over protective but this is just...
"Stella!" Mitch cried running in the room after her.
I was left sitting alone in shock. At this point I finished my dinner. I really love pie and all but considering the situation... I was about to leave when I noticed a piece of paper on the counter. It was all the wedding info! Where it was what time everything! I copied down the time and place and left.
I called a cab. When I got home Celeste and I played Pac-man until 11 then went to bed.
The next 2 days were very unimportant. I did laundry while Celeste and Eli fought. Aneese watched Doctor Who. Ginger sat at the window staring out at nothing in particular. Alex played his shape toy while Ben tackled him. Nothing out of the usual. But the next day was, very interesting.
"Hey Mooni. So the wedding's tomorrow." Celeste said sipping her coffee then biting into her waffle. I sat next to her on the couch.
"So? There's nothing I can do about it." I sighed.
"Uh yeah there is. You still have the wedding info right?"
"Well I do but I don't see how that will help. What would I do go there and wish them the best of luck or draw a beard on Stella?" I asked glumly.
"No. You crash it. See if he likes you as much as you like him. Maybe he likes you more than that bish."
Well I must be in shit if Celeste is giving me advise.
"I couldn't do that. What if he doesn't like me? Then I stand there awkwardly and avoid him the rest of my life!"
"Eh, well then you move on. But it's your choice. You could spend your life thinking of what could be or, you could do something." She said taking a bite of her waffle then getting up and walking away.
I thought about it all day. But then, I came to a decision. I gotta find a dress.
The morning of the wedding I got up at 5 am and couldn't get back to sleep so I pulled myself out of bed and made myself a coffee. I made myself a bowl of cereal and watched some telly to calm my nerves. Being a goody two shoes my whole life I've never done anything like this before. The feeling was like an adrenalin rush but a quaking fear of said rush. I was getting nauseous just thinking about it. I started to read a book to keep me from puking. I then swept the floors, mopped, laid out the kids' clothes, made a cake and cookies, brushed my teeth 4 times and went on Facebook.
By then it was around 10. So I fed the boys and got them dressed. Eli was to watch them while I was gone since Celeste was driving the get-away car. I then got out colouring books for them to colour in. I kept looking at the clock anxiously. 3 and a half hours.
I went outside. Gosh. It'll be the children's birthday soon. 4 already. I've been so caught up with Mitch and Duncan that I haven't really been able to spend as much time as would have liked to. After I die of humiliation today I'll take them to the zoo. Well first I'd have to draw a zoo...
"Zoë! It's almost time to go! We have to get there in a half hour and it takes about 20 min to drive there..." Celeste called.
I had been out there for how long?! I sprinted upstairs and got dressed and grabbed my make-up. I got in the car, we have to get there in 10 min! We won't make it! I'm too late! I'm going to die alone!!!!!
"I know what you're thinking. Stop being paranoid. You won't die alone." Celeste said rolling her eyes.
I grinned. "You know me. I can't help it."
I swear, I don't know how we didn't get pulled over. Celeste was driving around 200 km/h! I tried to do my make-up but couldn't since the whole time I thought I was going to die.
When we got there the wedding hadn't started yet thanks to Celeste's maniac driving. Everyone was in this big hall waiting still. I went inside and the first thing I saw was Mitch. He was talking to what seemed to be his friends. They were all patting him on the back. One of them turned.
"Hey Mitch, I think that chick is starring at you." He said.
I slipped into a crowd of people. The last thing I need right now is for Mitch to see me. I wasn't watching where I was going and walked into this woman.
"Watch where you're going! This is silk you know." She said brushing past me.
Her and a bunch of people snickered and walked away. They all wore pastels and lacked sympathy. For sure they're the bride's family.
"Are you trying to ruin my life?!" Stella screamed as one of her bride's maids ran after her.
Everyone turned as she burst through a door, and her face wore so much makeup you could hardly see any skin. Now I know I'm one to talk with my black and pink makeup crammed on my eye lids but this wasn't natural.
Before Mitch had time to look at her, his friends looked at each other and tackled him.
"What are you-?" He squeaked.
"Sorry man, you can't look at the Bridezilla. No matter how scary she looks." One of his friends snickered.
I couldn't help but laugh at that. But since I was still in hiding I laughed silently in my head.
Her dress was big and poofy. Like what cinderella wore. (Give or take ugly step sister) It was pearl white and had sparkles everywhere. It reminded me of her face. Not one spot was unsparkled.
After about 15 min of calming Stella down they started the ceremony.
It's almost time. I took a breath.
The priest talked about unity and crap like that but I couldn't pay attention. He kept making jokes that no one laughed at. Then...
"Speak now or forever hold your peace."
There's a silence. There's my last chance to tell him. I stand up shaking uncontrollably, everyone stares at me in horror. But I really couldn't give a shit what they think of me right now.
"I do." I winced.
Mitch turned to meet my eyes. There was a deep sadness to them, like I was ruining his one chance at happiness.
"You really do love her." I whispered to myself.
Stella was freaking out seeing me here.
"I told you not to invite her!" She sobbed.
Mitchell tried to console her never taking his eyes off me.
"And why is that?" The priest asked me.
"Er, I..." I looked at him with Stella, " I was just- never mind. Thinking it over I think they love each other very much and I'm not going to ruin that."
I got up and ran out of the church.
Celeste saw me and turned the car on.
We sat there for a minuet.
Celeste broke the silence first "Are you going to be okay?"
I nodded looking at my feet. Why was I so stupid? Why would he want to ditch Stella who he's known for who knows how long for me who he met what five days ago?
I sighed.
"I'm a horrible friend."
"What? No you aren't." I replied knowing how this will end.
"Yeah. I made you come here." She said.
"No you didn't. You brought up the idea of coming. I'm the one who decided to come."
She started to drive away just as there was a scream from the church. We figured it was Stella and drove away.
When home I really didn't feel like doing anything. Why was it always me with the tough love? Celeste and Eli took care of the kids. And I guess they felt pity for me since they didn't tear at each other's throats.
At about three there was a knock on the door.
Too lazy to get the door I thought. But I still got up and went to the door.
They knocked again. And again. Either they are very impatient or I'm just slow. They started to curse and began to leave. I ran to the door because I knew who it was.
The door flew open just as I yelled, "Mitch!"
He turned and grinned. He started to walk towards me.
"I'm sorry about the whole thing at the wedding. I wasn't thinking and um, I uh... thought Stella wasn't treating you-" I was cut off mid sentence when Mitch kissed me.
I was completely caught off guard by this. He was MARRIED! What was he doing. But I just mentally shrugged and went along with this.
"Ew. Mummy is kissing." I heard Benry yell.
Everyone just had to laugh at that.
"Way to wooin a moment Ben!" Aneese screamed back.
We pulled away and looked behind us. It seemed we had drawn a pretty big crowd. The kids had crawled/walked over from the back yard while Celeste was standing by the porch grinning knowingly.
Then I realized that had actually happened. Shit. It wasn't one of my dreams.
"Mitch, you're married." I whispered. Oh my god. I was the Henra! I can't be the cheater's cheat! (If that makes sense.)
"No actually I'm not." He smiled. "After you left I talked to Stella and she had it in her mind that I was cheating on her for some reason. Then she slapped me. And the spark was gone. So I went to my house packed up all my stuff and came here."
He loves me too. I tried to swallow all of that.
"So you love me?" I asked.
"Does this prove anything?" He said getting on one knee.
>>>
Later that week I was walking down the isle once again.
"I do." I said one last time.
"Me too." He grinned.
We were married. And this time I knew it would last.
